a city in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The
population was 13,535 at the 2000 census.
Wood Dale has a station on Metra's
Milwaukee District/West Line, which provides daily rail
service between Elgin, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois
(at Union Station).
As of the census[2] of 2000,
there were 13,535 people, 5,117 households, and 3,663
families residing in the city. The population density
was 2,897.8 people per square mile (1,119.0/km²).
There were 5,220 housing units at an average density
of 1,117.6/sq mi (431.6/km²). The racial makeup
of the city was 89.22 percent White, 0.58 percent African
American, 0.15 percent Native American, 3.24 percent
Asian, 0.07 percent Pacific Islander, 4.80 percent from
other races, and 1.94 percent from two or more races.
