Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Our Starter Kit

Answer: Yes. See the "Add Ons" section for pricing.

FAQ: "I'd like the second photographer for only a small part of the day. Is that possible?"

Answer: The minimum amount of time required for the second photographer is 3 hours.

3 Hours Coverage

FAQ: "I'm not sure how many hours I need?"

Answer: Below is our recommendation for an average wedding

Pre-Ceremony
Bride and Bridesmaids
Posed and Photojournalistic/Candids
60 Minutes

Groom and Groomsmen
Posed and Photojournalistic/Candids
30 Minutes

Ceremony
Atmosphere (inside and out), Photojournalistic and Candids as well as the ceremony itself.
60 Minutes

Post Ceremony
Bride & Groom, Bridal Party, Family and Friends. These will be the more formal group shots.
60 Minutes

Standard Reception 240 Minutes (4 Hours)
Atmosphere, Receiving Line, Introductions, Toasts, Prayer, Dinner, Cake Cutting, First Dance, Bouquet Toss, Garter Toss, General Dancing.

Different Locations
We require drive time PLUS 15 minutes between each location so that we can pack our equipment and unpack our equipment at the next location (as well as scout the new location). The average wedding usually has three different locations: getting ready location, ceremony location, then reception location. The time noted on the right uses an average 10 minute drive time between locations and uses our standard "Plus 15 minutes".
75 Minutes

So for an average wedding, you'll need approximately 9 Hours

FAQ: "There is a time gap between the ceremony and the reception. Can I start the service hours, then stop the service hours during the gap, then restart the service again when the reception begins?"

Answer: Our service hours are consecutive hours and therefore cannot "stop" then "restart". Any time gaps between events during the day are charged at our standard hourly rate.

Unlimited Exposures

FAQ: "How many pictures can I expect?"

Answer: This is a difficult question to answer as it will be based on the number in your bridal party, the number of different locations, the different events occurring during your ceremony and reception, and various other situations. However, on average, you can expect approximately 80-100 exposures for each hour of service. For example; 8 hours of service - 640 to 800 exposures, 4 hours of service - 320 to 400 exposures.

Unlimited Locations

FAQ: "I would like photos taken at several different locations. Is there a charge for this?"

Answer: No. Unlimited locations are included in our starter kit.

FAQ: "I'm located in Central, Illinois. Is there a travel fee."

Answer: Our service area includes a radius of 30 miles from Lombard, Illinois (60148). Travel outside our service area is subject to a $2 per mile travel fee in both directions. For example, if your wedding will be taking place 50 miles from Lombard, the travel fees will be charged in this fashion:

Miles from Lombard, Illinois 50
Service Area Included 30

Miles Over Service Area To Be Charged 20

Travel Fee TO Event (20 x $ 2.00 ) $ 40.00
Travel Fee FROM Event (20 x $ 2.00 ) $ 40.00

Total Travel Fee: $ 80.00

We use MapQuest.com to determine distance. To see if a travel fee will be required for your wedding, follow the directions below:

Determining Your Distance From Lombard, IL

1. Click here to open a new MapQuest location window
2. Enter the address of the first location we will be shooting
3 Select "GET DIRECTIONS".
The distance in miles will now be displayed at the bottom of the page. If less than 30 miles, no travel fee will be charged. If miles are over 30, continue to step 4
4. Subtract 30 from the total number of miles displayed to get the total number of miles outside our service area.
5. Multiply the total number of miles outside our service area by $ 4.00 . The result will be the total travel fees which will be applied (Using $ 4.00 instead of $ 2.00 will give you the total amount of going TO your event AND coming FROM your event)

Choice of Color, Black & White, Sepia Prints

Answer: Yes. Once in our digital darkroom, we will go through all the exposures to ensure proper color and light exposure. If additional re-touching (blemish removal, teeth whitening, etc) or design (montages, mosaics, etc) are required, just let us know. Additional re-touching and design work is charged at our standard hourly rate.

Answer: The bride and groom have the opportunity to print "proof sheets" from their web gallery. The proof sheets print 12 photos per page (approximate wallet sized pictures). This is a very unique offering we have as we know of no other photographers which allow individuals to "freely" print photos. We trust that our clients will only use them for such purposes as addressed in the question. All images are copyrighted and cannot be duplicated unless the high resolution digital negatives are purchased or have gained expressed written permission from Loftus Photography.
